Safety and Security
- An active blind spot system helps prevent the driver from making a lane change when another vehicle is in their blind spot.
- The vehicle is equipped with a system that senses, and then prepares, the vehicle and/or occupants, for an impending forward collision.
- The vehicle constantly monitors the roadway in front of the vehicle and identifies and tracks pedestrians on an interior display. If the system determines a likely impact, it will automatically take preventative steps to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
- With this system the driver’s hands must remain on the wheel at all times but can be removed briefly (for a few seconds), otherwise the vehicle will prompt the driver to put their hands back on the wheel.

My experience with KarMART Volkswagen of Maui has been extremely disappointing. I purchased a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas with the expectation of reliability and professional service, but after 9 separate repair visits and already having to schedule a 10th, the recurring brake system and electrical issues remain unresolved.
Communication has also been a major concern. The dealership does not always return calls or follow up in a timely manner. On several occasions, I was told that a loaner vehicle was reserved for me, only to arrive in Kīhei and find that no vehicle was actually available.
After months of ongoing problems, I spoke directly with the dealership manager, Brandon, to express my frustration. His response — that “they don’t make the cars, they just sell them” — left me truly lost for words. That kind of mindset, which separates the dealership from responsibility, is unacceptable for any business that stands behind the vehicles they sell.
Despite my patience and repeated attempts to resolve the issues respectfully, the same safety warnings and malfunctions continue to occur. As a loyal customer who values safety, accountability, and honest communication, I find this experience extremely frustrating and disheartening.
I hope management and Volkswagen take this review seriously and work to improve both customer care and responsibility toward their products.
